Feeling fine!
My quest to trim it down a little is, I am happy to say, working well! I have begun to incorporate 2 juices or smoothies, 2 snacks & one meal of salad plus either raw or cooked vegetables. I feel sooooo much better, not bloated & fitting my clothes that little bit better!
Surprisingly I love the green juices/smoothies for breakfast especially. Heres my favourite:
- One banana into blender with about half a cup of water (sometimes coconut water or milk instead)
- Blend it up till smooth
- Add big handful baby spinach & tablespoon acai berry powder
- Blend again till all smooth & then drink!
Either lunch or dinner is a juice, usually with spirulina the other meal is salad plus vege. Snacks are usually fruit or carrot sticks with hommus or cacao nibs plus some gogi berries. So far so good! I am about to do a major detox & step up the juicing to each meal a day using a variety of fruits and vegetables – will let you know how I go…….. aiming for a few more kilos yet then will be all set for a nice holiday at the end of the month!

Good for you Christine … keep up the good work!
That’s great! Having so much energy and feeling wonderful is what really matters. The weight loss is just a bonus.
Great job Christine. Keep up the great work.
We have only fruit in our early morning smoothies because fruit is a cleanser. I do incorporate almond milk(or other), the equivalent of one tablespoon for each one of us of ground flax seed(omega 3) but no green veggies, even if they are juiced.
We keep green juices as builders. I will incorporate apples or such in my green juices with spirulina (or other) like you.
We are always thinking as to the “why” we are eating any foods we put in our mouth.Mornings are to cleans and midday or latter is to build and maintain energy levels.
Thanks for the tips,

Hello Christine,
Another idea is to add a bit of flax oil or ground flaxseed – as Vitamin A is oil soluble, it is recommended to consume it with some kind of oil for better absorption.
I am a big fan of a morning smoothie,too!
I wanted to suggest a good variation to your smoothie – replace spinach with kale. It has a better nutrition profile than spinach, although stronger taste too

And all the best with your effort,

Pierre….so, why can’t we eat greens in our morning smoothies? I’ve been drinking a big green smoothie every morning…banana, mango, kale, flax seed, chia, almonds. ? Should the first smoothie of the day consist ONLY of fruit? No nuts either? I’m confused! Thanks.
Kate hi,
Thank you for your question. Your observations are well taken.
The purpose of eating is to not only feel great and full of energy but to cleanse and treat our bodies with the respect it needs. Using fruits to cleans, starts the day off just right. Incorporating greens tends to confuse the body. If your digestion is perfect, then by all means do what you feel is right for you.
Without knowing more about you, it is difficult to really answer more accurately.
P.S. When you have a specific concern, ask Google. Do research and keep your mind fresh(no pun intended).
P.S.S. First thing in my mouth in the morning is 2 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar(with mother) mixed with 1 tablespoon of Natural unprocessed Honey. Blend it with 8 to 10 ounces of water and enjoy. Check Google for the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey. Let me know what you find.Pierre
