Why is Eating For Energy so Important For Perfect Health?

December 3rd, 2010

Being in “Perfect Health” should be our ultimate goal in life.

healthy

Understanding what it takes to get into Perfect Health seems to be a challenge most of us struggle with.

When I found the information on Yuri’s blog, I could not of imagined the roller-coaster ride of emotions I was going to go through. It had been a long time since I had been back to school and looking at myself, from the inside out, seemed difficult at first. Here is what I realized:

  1. I did not know my body very well.
  2. I did not know very much about the importance of “good” nutrition.
  3. I had never accepted myself to be the most important person.

Part 1.: Not knowing my body very well surprised me. Well, if I look back just a little, no wonder I was feeling so crappy. I did not take care of my body very well. Ironic how we all assume that this imperfect machine we call our body will just magically take care of itself. We have been given just one chance and most of us are blowing it.

  • If you car breaks down what do you do? Fix it or buy another.
  • If your computer is worn down and running “slowly”? What do you do? Fix it or buy another.
  • If your relationships break down, what do you do?…

Most problems in life have a solution. A tangible one we all associate with being decisive and intelligent.

When your body breaks down or, is on the verge of letting you go?What do you do? No second chances here. You and only you are the solution. Buying Eating For Energy was a big part of the solution of getting to know my body much better than I thought I did.

Part 2.: Learning about nutrition was the investment I needed to make in myself. Spending $39.95 on Yuri’s book was a joke, when I look at it today. He shares so much information with us, in and out of the book, that it makes the investment the best one I have made in my life.

  • I had not fully understood the purposes of eating “smart” and my lack of basic knowledge was incredible.
  • Why do we not learn this stuff at school? Well, I guess we are not ready or that most parents and scholars have no clue as to the importance of tacking care of our bodies.” lol” what is more important than a human life?
  • Don’t we deserve the truth about nutrition and what it will do to our bodies if we are not careful? I rest that case right here, period.

Part 3.:I am the most important me their is. Are you?

Being in Perfect Health at this time of year should be the  ultimate gift you make to yourself. How many of you that read my articles are ready to take the next step?

Are you? Do it now and thank yourself later. That is what I am doing right now. Thanks Pierre for believing in me.

The Peaks and the Valleys

December 2nd, 2010

That last couple of months have had some highs and some lows, and now I’m writing to share it with everyone.

Valleys First

Back during the beginning of October, I found myself exhausted. Thankfully, I had enough gas in the tank to make it through work okay, but as soon as I came home, that was it, my day was done. I could never remember feeling that tired before and wondered if I was coming down with a cold, but I didn’t feel sick. Just very tired. After about a week, I finally made a connection. I had just started a parasite cleanse kit, and it was a day or two later that I felt so worn down. I hoped that this meant the exhaustion was due to the cleanse working and killing a bunch of bad things in my body.

The way the cleanse works is you take it for fifteen days, stop for five, and take it for another fifteen. I had to wait and see if I recovered during those five days, and was thankful I was only taking the evening dose rather than both the morning and evening doses (which you can do if you are small enough). Happily, I did perk up during those five days, and figured the second fifteen would not be as bad.

Then I caught a cold. I was seriously hoping I might skip that experience this year. Alas, that dream was dashed at the beginning of the cold season. There were a couple bad days, but I persevered through it. I bought some tea for fighting colds. It tastes fabulous. I would drink it just because. I think it’s the cinnamon bark and liquorice root that makes it so yummy.

Also, regarding my Candida, I’m still suffering from it more than I like. (To read my original post, click here). I recently purchased a cleanse kit for Candida since my diet alone is not enough, and I’ve been slipping and eating things I shouldn’t, but honestly, I doubt I can do much better than I have for an extended period of time, so I hope the cleanse can give me a boost. I wanted to wait a couple weeks before starting it since I had just finished the parasite cleanse. Maybe this weekend.

I need to jump back on the exercise bandwagon. Once I fell off, I kind of stayed off. It was easier during the summer. I got up about and hour and a half earlier than normal, which gave me plenty of time to exercise and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. It’s hard to crawl out of bed at 6:15 AM when it’s pitch black outside, and I find myself getting up at the last minute to get ready for work. Something to work on.

Okay, now the Peaks

Compliments. Everyone loves compliments, and it makes my hard work worth it when I receive them. For a while, every time my Dad saw me, he asked if I’d lost more weight. I hadn’t, but it made me feel good to hear him ask. I think he was just so unused to seeing me look like this it took a while for him to adjust. At one point I did take my measurements and had lost a couple inches even though no pounds had dropped, so remember, the scale alone is not the end all. It’s also nice when people at work notice and comment. Nothing like someone asking if you have lost weight and saying you look good to bring a smile to your face.

I am also more regular than I have ever been, and for those who have read Eating for Energy, you know exactly what I mean. For those who haven’t, it means I poop more than once a day. (I know, thanks for sharing, right? You’re welcome). But seriously, it is a good indicator of how well things are working internally. I’ll leave this particular subject alone now.

Some more tidbits. My hair is shiny and healthy looking. I’m not totally sure how much is attributed to the fact I switched shampoo brands, but I know my diet is a major factor. I supplement with krill oil everyday and try to add as many healthy fats to my diet as I can, like coconut, extra virgin olive oil and flax oil.

My teeth are also doing better. I suffered from sensitive teeth over the past couple of years, and was using toothpaste formulated for sensitive teeth. It worked at first, and then my teeth began hurting again. A couple months ago, I switched to a more natural fluoride-free toothpaste and have had only one moment of pain (when I went from something hot directly to something cold) so I’m extremely pleased. It makes me wonder what my old toothpaste was doing to my teeth.

I also switched to an aluminium free deodorant as I try to eliminate heavy metals from any products I use. I purchased some body lotions that are coconut or olive oil based since I suffer from dry skin over the winter, and they work great.

A positive on the food side of things, I have been experimenting with fruit smoothies. One of my favourite ingredients is grapefruit. It gives the smoothie a nice tang. Grapefruit and berries, give it a try. Just blend it well since the grapefruit is pulpy.

Okay, I think that’s enough for today. Until next time.

Perfect Health-Free at Last,Yes Free At Last

December 2nd, 2010

When you worry about your past, look at your present and wonder about your future, you should always remember one very important lesson. “Is being healthy such an unhealthy thing?”

After living in fear for so many years, Eating for Energy has shown me the way back to Perfect Health. Why is it that so many of us accept being unhealthy? The more people I talk to the more I find resistance to being healthy. Is that normal? I do not think so.

Their seems to be more and more acceptance that being obese or severely overweight is just a new lifestyle. Many teens today seem to ride this train to nowhere. They follow trends in magazines that cater to them and assume they are part of a new trend that accepts them for what they have become,”Unhealthy!” WOW.

Eating fruits and vegetables seems to be  ”dirty” words. Sorry for the misuse of know grammar rules but maybe time has come to wake up the past and bring back some good old common sense.

Eating for Energy is breaking the barriers and we need to wake up before it is too late. Obesity, diabetes, hearth disease, asthma… are becoming vocabulary of the day. Incredible!

I play hockey once a week with a group of mainly 10 to 12 year old kids that have not learned yet that “being unhealthy is the new healthy of the day”. When I tell them that I am 58 years old going on 30 they do not understand. All they know is that this grandpa they are playing with still has a lot of gas to burn.

If any of you are still wondering what all the buzz is about, please go ahead and buy Yuri’s book. It is the main reason you are reading this right now. Take the time to see why I am shouting as loud as I can, “Free at Last, Yes Free At Last.

How To Avoid Junk Food At Work?

November 11th, 2010

vending machineKnowing how to avoid junk food at work has got to be the million dollar question because let’s be honest – the good old vending machine can be your best friend when you feel like something quick and easy to eat.

And as it stands there all alone in the hallway, overflowing with different types of goodies to tempt you in, it can be VERY hard to walk past it and not fall under its hypnotic spell.

In fact avoiding junk food altogether for most people can be a really hard thing to do.

So many of us today are walking around like zombies because we’re so darn tired all of the time, that sugar fix from a can of soda or chocolate bar can be just what you need to help get you through the day.

Well ‘need’ may not be the right word to use because we definitely do not need junk food!

So if you want to know how to avoid junk food at work then try the following:

1. Leave your wallet at home so you don’t have any money to buy junk food. This is by far the best tip because if you don’t have any money, then you quite simply cannot buy the junk food in the first place.

2. Always bring your own meals into work and have some healthy snacks on hand so that you are not tempted to fill up on chocolate, lollies and crisps.

Just like Yuri explains in his book ‘Eating for Energy’ - you need to feed your body with food that is going to energize you, not take it away.

Things like almonds, dates and fruit are a great snack food because they are whole foods – foods that have undergone little or no processing. They will also fill you up so that you’re not tempted to eat the sugary, nutrient-starved junk food.

So avoiding junk food at work can be a hard thing to do – but the good news is that you don’t have to have Superman-like strength and willpower!

If you come into work every day prepared, and keep a stash of healthy snacks in your bag or locker, then you’re less likely to fall under the hypnotic spell of that vending machine …

To your good health …

Eating For Energy-Perfect Health Smoothie Benefits

November 3rd, 2010

Response to yesterdays article,”Eating For Energy-Simple Breakfast Idea-Made Simple” created quite a stir at home. Pierrette asked me,”When was the last time you had your kids eating 3 fruit for breakfast?”

The smoothie I told you about yesterday was actually one I created for my daughter. She just had a tooth pulled and needed energy without any danger of getting anything caught in the new hole in her mouth. We all know how kids are, right? This was my chance to make a healthy drink and keep her honest about her commitment to maintain great health. Well, she loved it and she asked me,“Dad, what energy does a smoothie give us?

Two questions from the inside and many more on the net. I guess many of you need to learn more about breakfast, smoothies, energy.

We often assume and take for granted the knowledge we have learned from our parents and teachers. Our kids should know the benefits of fruit, don’t they? Are your kids getting all the advantages of 3 fruits most days of the week? They should. Having a smoothie in the morning is the best healthy way to ensure the vitamin and mineral content they need to get their day off with a bang. Read the following and learn about the goodness of healthy, raw fruits:http://www.perfectsmoothie.com/benefits-daily-smoothie/
