Eating for Energy Thanksgiving Special

November 22nd, 2010

I’ve got a great Eating for Energy Thanksgiving special for you!

But before I get to that let me tell why I’m doing this and why you NEED what I’m about to share with you…

The simple truth is that we eat more during the holidays. As a result, most people tend to put on a few extra pounds each time Thanksgiving rolls around (no pun intended).

In fact, a recent study in Nutrition Journal revealed that participants gained a significant amount of weight (0.5 kg) during the 3-4 days of Thanksgiving.

While an increase in weight of half a kilogram may not be cause for alarm, the increase could have potential long-term health consequences if people retain this weight gain throughout the year and repeat this pattern year after year.

The study also found that because the overweight/obese participants gained the greatest amount of bodyweight during Thanksgiving, this group may be at increased risk for weight gain and further obesity development during the holiday season.

But it gets even better (and by that I mean worse)…

A 2007 report in the New York Times highlighted the fact that most research is now showing that MOST people are packing on 7-10 pounds of fat between Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays!!!

That’s 7-10 lbs in just ONE month.

Why is this happening?

Well, it’s not rocket science – lots of food and lots of drinking.

Even the best exercise program doesn’t stand a chance against this kind of indulgence.

But it’s not just the quantity of food, it’s also the kind of food and how it’s been eaten.

Heavy proteins and starches, lots of sugar and sweets, and late night eating are just a few culprits behind holiday weight gain.

And that’s why I’ve prepared 3 INCREDIBLE GIFTS for you today.

Are you ready for them?

Here they are….

Unlocking The Key To Weight Loss – A Surprisingly Simple Tip.

October 4th, 2010

keyNow you don’t have to be Albert Einstein to realise that diets in most developed countries around the world today have become nothing short of diabolical. We have quite simply evolved into an overweight, fast food, soft drink-guzzling race.

But besides eating healthy and moving your body, there is also a surprisingly simple tip that is going to help you to lose weight.

And it’s called eating slowly.

Often we’re so busy that we just don’t take time to eat slowly. And putting food in our mouth forms only a very small part of the actual eating process.

Eating slowly is essential to good health. Why? Because if you eat in a hurry or grab a quick snack on the run you are compromising both your choice of food (it’s nutritional value) and your ability to digest it.

If your job is quite demanding and stressful, you can sometimes feel compelled to eat in a hurry which actually sends a message to your brain to slow down the digestion process. As a result, that hurriedly chewed food sits in your stomach and intestines weighing you down, making you feel sluggish and reducing your energy levels.

A lot of people today are also prone to experiencing digestive problems because of the erratic times that they eat, so when you combine this with eating in a hurry – then you are more likely to fall victim to this rather unpleasant ailment.

You see digestive problems are aggravated when you eat in a rush and fail to chew food properly. The stomach has to attempt to digest large chunks of food, which requires much more effort by your body. Your saliva contains digestive enzymes which are mixed with the food in your mouth, but only if you chew the food properly. If the food has not been broken down by chewing (from eating in a hurry), then it will just sit in your stomach until it can be broken down further.

Just like Yuri explains in his book – Eating for Energy, this process uses a lot of extra digestive enzymes and energy which makes you feel sluggish – not good if you are already feeling severely tired and exhausted.

So the key to losing weight is to eat a lot more RAW food, move your body AND to eat slowly.

Try and take the time to relax a little before you eat. Even take a few deep breaths beforehand and in between each mouthful. This is what eating is all about – savouring the tastes and enjoying your food.

Seeing Positive Changes

September 12th, 2010

So I haven’t posted for  a while,  but I’m happy to say I finally have been able to get my health heading in the right direction.   Since my last post and following a recommendation from Christina I now have a very good understanding of what I need to do to keep my body happy and my stomach pain free.  Can everyone say… “food combining is my friend”.  I have to follow the rules quite strictly and even with the rules I have to keep my meals quite small, but the change is quite amazing.  I can eat spicy foods again, but  I still have to watch how much raw foods I eat as they still tend to upset the balance of things.  I have been able to start using more of the recipes out the eating for energy program (www.eatingforenergy.ca) and that makes me happy as the recipes are quick, easy and flavourful and they fit well into my busy lifestyle.  Veggies like broccoli and cauliflower require blanching of at least 1 minute in order to eat them without pain, but at least I can now eat them.

The only really sad thing I’ve discovered in the last week, thanks to the food combining, is that I react very badly to coffee. My stomach acts up within 5 minutes of having the first sip :(    I love my coffee, the flavour, the smell….Thankfully I’ve found chocolate teeccino, a very nice alkaline coffee alternative and mixed with mint tea tastes like a drinkable dessert.  Not quite as good as that first cup of joe in the morning, but the coffee is definitely not worth the pain.

And while weightloss isn’t my primary goal, I’m happy to report in the last week since I’ve gotten the food combining down and with my additional marathon training time, I’ve lost 7lbs… truly amazing what can happen when your body is getting what it needs….

How To Lose Weight With Eating For Energy

May 18th, 2010

Many say that losing weight is a chore. Well, my friends, let me tell you it does not have to be. Following a diet can be very difficult because you often get tired and feel worn down. Your mind plays games with your motivation and you wander from indecision to indecision, everyday you follow this “diet”. We have all been there and know the feeling.

Have you ever been on a diet and felt great all the time? Have you ever had the feeling of doing, instead of grudgingly going about your chores everyday? Do you get up in the morning wanting to do your exercises more than anything else? Has your diet ever become so exciting that you need to tell everyone about the benefits?

Eating for Energy is the training program you need to follow. My energy level is so high that I feel exhilarated all the time. When I exercise I am tired and ready to start all over again. I am 58 years old and have never had the constant energy that I have since I began following Yuri and what he teaches.

Learning how to eat to give me all this energy, has been an experience you need to have. Your life will never be the same. Your goal setting ability will completely change your way of thinking.

Losing weight will become so easy because Eating for Energy shows you how to have an ideal body and shows you how you are suppose to feel, not how you have been feeling most of your life. It feels so great to “feel alive“.I had completely forgotten that sweet feeling of getting up in the morning and “smelling the roses”.

  • Your body will be transformed into exactly how you are suppose to look and feel, always.
  • Your mind becomes clear and focused because your energy is not all spent on digestion.
  • Your mind is getting a tremendous boost of energy and your thinking cap is bigger than you ever thought it could be.

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired you need to listen to Yuri.

If you are sick and tired of all the diets, the failures, the feelings of frustration, the looks of disgust and shame, you need to listen to Yuri.

Eating for Energy is like beginning all over again. It is like going to school and learning to write, count, and read all over again. Just imagine going back and having a fresh start? That is what following Eating for Energy will do for you.

No pills, no diet, no drugs, … Just great health.

The Power of Raw Foods for Weight Loss

May 2nd, 2010

Trying to lose weight can be a real battle. Putting on the pounds tends to be a gradual process, one that goes unnoticed as the months and years go by, until one day, we simply stop fitting into our favorite clothes.

We dust off the old bathroom scale, tentatively climb on, and discover just how far we have let ourselves go. And just like that, we decide that the excess weight – which has taken a long time to add on – must come off, and it must come off now.

For many people in this situation, the idea of using a raw food diet for weight loss seems like the best solution. All you have to do is get rid of everything cooked or processed, and voila! The pounds will simply melt away. Of course, that is not the case.

Those sneaky pounds have taken months to accumulate, and getting rid of them will take just as long. But eating more raw foods will certainly get you moving in the right direction.

A raw food diet can give you a lot of power in the battle to lose weight. For one thing, raw foods contain no additional fats and sugars. Processed and cooked foods are often laden with additional fattening ingredients to improve the taste that is often lost in the cooking process. And while the end result is flavorful, it is also rather harmful to your body. Raw foods have all of their own natural flavors still intact and undiluted, which means you won’t have to add processed white sugar to them in order to make the taste pop.

A raw diet plan will also give you more foods that are incredibly high in fibre. That means that what you eat will not be empty calories that will still leave you feeling peckish now and starving later; those raw foods carry enough bulk to ensure that you push away from the dining table with a satisfied, full feeling that will last until your next scheduled meal or snack.

And when you eat foods that are high in fibre, you will need to eat less in order to get to that “full” state. All of that fibre will also do wonders for your digestive tract.

Raw foods also tend to have a fairly high water content, which means that by eating raw, you will be getting more of that life-preserving fluid than you would in a dried-out and overcooked item. Raw fruits and vegetables, in particular, are very high in water content. Of course, you should continue to drink water as well, but a well hydrated body is one that can work at full capacity, helping you to burn the calories that you take in.

But raw foods are not a magic fix-all, and the weight they help you to lose will not simply drop away overnight. Fat takes time to build up in the body, and it will take time to remove. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t see instant results. The long-term good that a raw diet will do for your system is worth the time.
