How to Lose Weight With Eating for Energy 2

May 31st, 2010

My vision of weight loss has been dramatically changed with Eating for Energy. I have stopped looking for a magic bullet and decided to put my faith in me. What I mean is that learning about me has to be “my” concern. I really needed to have a plan and stop relying on others to decide for me.

In order to complete this mission I needed to make some very important decisions:

  1. How important was my health to me?
  2. What do I need to learn to come to grips with my health, body image and my vision for the future of my overall Body, Mind and Spirit?
  3. How do I stop relying on others to solve my problems?

Finding Eating for Energy was a Godsend because it gave me the information I needed to know without going back to school and starting all over again. My Health is so important that I needed to find a Guide to guide me with the “learning about me process”. The #1 benefit of buying Eating for Energy is that you have a guide, a constant companion on your journey to your ideal vision of you.

Every word written in this book was written just for me and my positive attitude about myself really inspired me to believe in me again. This was the beginning of realizing how important my health was to me.

The next step was all about what I needed to learn. This second step was the most difficult because of all the preconceived ideas I already had.

  • I just needed to accept my naivety and put my trust in someone that was or seemed to be knowledgeable.
  • Reading Yuri’s story gave me the confidence I needed to go forward.
  • His 6 part e-course intro “Energy Secrets”  inspired the confidence in him I needed to have. Giving knowledge for free was inspiring to me. Thank you Yuri.
  • It gave me a chance to get “to know him” before realizing that I was the problem, not him.
  • Learning just one thing I did not know was all it took. It made me sit back and ask myself what I was doing here. It worked.

The final step was to finally “accept my responsibility” to me.

  1. I could only be healthy if “I” wanted to.
  2. I can eat Raw and not dead foods only if I get the point, and I did. The benefits are for my body.
  3. Eating for Energy is all about me, not Yuri.
  4. My health is my own and his guidance is a gift to me.

Eating for Energy is a life experience you need to share with”yourself”.

Join Pierrette & I and many others that finally understood what to do. Losing weight and good health is your responsibility, to you.

Do You Listen To Your Body When It Grumbles?

May 21st, 2010

stomachDo you ever take the time and listen to what your body is telling you – or do you just ignore it and pretend those grumbling digestive sounds don’t belong to you?

Now the reason I ask is because most people don’t listen to what their body is telling them.

As Yuri explains in his book – Eating for Energy - feeling tired or bloated after a meal is not normal. These type of symptoms can actually indicate a myriad of possible digestive issues – including those funny little ‘noises’ that seem to escape every now and then!!

Most people cruise through life eating whatever they want – whenever they want. (And I must admit, this was me for many, many years!) But what makes this so bad, is that most don’t fully understand what they’re doing to their body’s internal environment – and the damage that they’re causing.

So if you keep doing this year after year, you are essentially causing wear and tear on your body and this is definitely NOT GOOD!

And just like Yuri explains in his book Eating for Energy - you really do need to listen to your body because your body will tell you exactly what it needs. (And it’s not a cheeseburger, coke and fries …)

So whenever you’ve got hunger pains – don’t ignore them. It’s your body’s way of telling you that it needs more energy.

And this also applies in reverse – when you’re not hungry. If your tummy is satisfied then don’t keep stuffing it with more. You have to let your body get the chance to digest this food properly otherwise it can lead to tummy aches and even malnutrition, as your cells are unable to absorb vital nutritients from the food.

So despite what your mother or grandmother may have told you in the past – you do not have to finish everything that is on your plate!

If you’re full – you’re full. It’s time to ‘down tools’ and just enjoy feeling satisfied.

To your good health,

Who Do You Talk To?-What Do You Listen To?

May 6th, 2010

As I walked over one of the two bridges crossing  the Sturgeon River there was a sudden quietness I had not noticed before. It was as though time had stopped and I could hear my heart pound and my breathing was deep and serene. Walking was having an effect on me  I could not have imagined.

Eating for Energy has given me this energy I had not expected. I was not concerned about my health or my body. My mind was revealing all these feelings I had never had before. I was in a peaceful state of mind. This was a new me, a rejuvenated me, a person that seemed to be talking to me as I peacefully continued my walk.

After 50 days of following advice from this incredible Eating for Energy book I am able to walk 10 kilometers in only 90 minutes and I feel so incredibly energized. I would not of been able to do this 10, 20 or even 30 years ago.

The energy I have inside my body  comes from eating the right foods and knowing why I am eating them. I started to walk to keep my mind alert and to have the time to think alone and discovered that my best friend was walking with me.

I truly believe that eating for energy is exactly what it is. I have this energy level I have not had since I was a teen. The book explains the changes that occur within your metabolism and what to expect from these changes.

Your Body, Mind and Spirit are finally working as a unit. You are not tired all the time. Your mind is clear and obviously you also feel the results in every inch of your body.

When your mind is alert it does not have to spend so much time worrying about your physical health and therefore can concentrate more on the life ahead of you. I know I seem confused at times, but all this energy needs to speak and tell the world how great I feel.

I am in control and I know it. That is the revelation you can feel if you decide to finally take care of you. My body has been taking to much energy from my Mind and Spirit for years. I can see clearly for the first time in many years.

Who Do You Talk to? I love to talk to my best friend when I walk and you guessed it. That best friend is ME.

What do you listen to? I follow my heart and I listen to the guidance I get from Eating for Energy. Listen to your heart and you will know what I am talking about. I hope you get to feel how I feel.

Why Eat a Raw Diet?

April 8th, 2010

“Why don’t you go raw?”

You might have had this asked of you at some point, if you have been talking to people about some of the new and innovative diet plans out there today. A raw diet plan has been gaining traction lately as far as popularity, and that has led some people to dismiss it as just another silly fad diet.

But hold your horses – this is not another quick weight loss miracle plan. If you take the time to really look, you will find that eating raw can offer you a lot of benefits. It is not always the easiest diet plan to follow, but the best things in life often require a little bit of hard work.

So, why go raw?

There are all sorts of benefits to consuming less cooked foods. For one, when you cook many of the foods we eat today, you leach away a lot of the benefits that your body could really use.

With vegetables, common cooking practices often include steaming or boiling, both of which pull out valuable nutrients and vitamins, leaving you with soggy, mushy carrots that are not nearly as useful or nutritious as they were before they hit the heat.

By cooking, you are also killing off the natural living enzymes in many foods – enzymes that can help with healthy digestion and processing of food within your body. Without those additional sources of enzymes, your body has to work hard to process, digest and pass foods, and often does a poorer job of it, meaning that what few nutrients are left in food are sometimes not fully absorbed by your body.

Another example of the killing power of cooking is milk products. These days, every milk product you can buy in the store – milk, cheese, and yogurt – has gone through a pasteurization process, killing off all of the bacteria in the milk. While this does protect you against the bad bacteria, it also destroys the good bacteria that can help your body.

Want proof?

Look at the new trend in yogurt – adding back in certain active bacterial cultures in order to benefit your overall health. Without pasteurization, those bacteria wouldn’t have to be added in – they would already be there.

So, how do you go raw? The best way to get into the groove with raw foods is to add them slowly, and little by little, remove the cooked items from your diet. Start off by substituting your side dishes at meals with raw items – cold raw soups, fresh salads or mixed vegetables instead of the usual hot items. Then, once your body begins to get used to these new sources of vitamins and nutrients, you can replace a meal a day with a raw alternative.

Breakfast is often the best place to start, as a smoothie for breakfast can really get your day going. Again, small steps are the best, and before you know it, you will be eating nothing but raw foods, and feeling great for it. And not only that, you will be able to sustain that sort of eating plan for the long term.

Why it’s Good to Eat More Raw Foods

February 24th, 2010

If you’ve been on the fence wondering whether eating more raw foods is a good thing or not, then let me help you over – to the good side. Obviously I have a very biased opinion about eating raw foods, after all I’ve written a book on the subject (ie. Eating for Energy).

But you just can’t refute the numerous benefits of eating raw. One of the reasons I started eating more raw foods several years ago was that I wanted more energy. I was sick and tired of needing lots of sleep (ie. 8-10 hours) to feel rested and somewhat energetic.

After all, most sleep experts have told us that our bodies need a “specific” amount of sleep for our body to regenerate and feel rested. I used to believe that…now I’m not so sure. What I’ve found is that when most of my food intake comes from raw foods, I don’t need as much sleep. In fact, when I’m about 80% raw, I can thrive on just 5-6 hours of sleep.

Part of the reason this happens is the body is getting “life energy” from the foods you’re feeding it. When we eat dead, cooked foods, there is little to no energy (other than calories) that we are providing our body.

Think of eating raw foods like recharging a battery. The more raw foods you eat, the more you are recharging your battery – which, in this case, is your body. Conversely, when the majority of your diet is comprised of dead foods, you inherently drain more of your battery’s energy.

This occurs because dead foods require more energy to be digested and metabolized. For instance, eating meat (that is cooked) draws more water from your body to be digested since most, if not all, the water in the meat has been evaporated by the cooking process.

Not only does eating cooked meat help to dehydrate your body but it also taxes your body’s digestive enzymes. Because the food is dead it no longer contains it’s natural food enzymes. As a result, your body must now spend more of its own energy to produce and secrete more of its limited digestive enzymes.

These are just a few reasons why cooked foods drain your energy but there are many more. Now, I’m not saying that you have to totally forego cooked foods from here on out (I certainly haven’t) but it’s important to understand that you should offset some of the “stress” imposed by cooked foods with an abundance of raw foods.

And it doesn’t have to be complicated. Simply eating more fruits and vegetables, in their raw state, is really all you need to do. When people ask me how to start eating raw, I usually just tell them that the easiest way to do so is by adding a few more fruits and vegetables into their daily diet.

Once you experience the benefits of doing so, you’ll find it easier to transition away from those foods that have held you hostage for so many years.

Go for it – you can do it!
