Fatigue: Why Hamburgers, Donuts and Soft Drinks Are Not Your Friend.

October 28th, 2010

donutsIf you’re struggling with constant fatigue and tiredness, then you’re certainly not alone. Considering fatigue is the number one complaint received by doctors around the world, it quite literally has become a Global epidemic.

And I have to say, this became increasingly evident to me as I conducted a training session at work the other day.

You see as staff arrived into the classroom, I was horrified to see a few finishing off their hamburgers, donuts and soft drinks.

When I questioned the ‘donut eater’ – her response was “I’ve been up since 2:30am – I need some sustenance!”

Now correct me if I’m wrong, but donuts and sustenance really don’t go together in the same sentence. In fact if you look on the back of most donut packets instead of listing the ingredients, they call it ‘Nutritional Information’.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t see any nutrition in something that contains a lot of trans fats and sugar.

These type of foods only sap your energy levels because they have undergone so much human intervention, and just like Yuri explains in his book – Eating for Energy, your body has no idea how to digest it.

So if you’re looking for ways to overcome chronic fatigue and tiredness, then just apply the following:

1. Avoid processed food as much as possible.

2. Eat raw foods as much as possible.

3. Everything in moderation.

By just incorporating the above 3 things into your daily regime, not only will the weight fall off but your energy levles will begin to skyrocket too. Because despite what you may think, hamburgers, donuts and soft drinks are definitely not your best friend.

Eating For Energy-Don’t Give Up-Try,Try,Again

Changing your lifestyle can be more complicated than it seems. Being discouraged and dumbfounded at the taste of fruit and vegetable juices will seem weird at first. Your taste buds will adjust.

Listen to the Yuri videos as he talks a lot about this subject. The beauty of Eating For Energy is that you have a whole staff of people ready to answer all your questions. Where else can you find all this info in a package like this?

Apples and carrots help to sweeten most drinks and will help in the transition. Try beets also in your vegetable juices. Combined with apples, carrots, Bok Choy(Chinese cabbage)  and other incredible ingredients, the taste will amaze you.

Attitude is the #1 ingredient

More than anything I believe your attitude towards being in Perfect Health is the most important ingredient. Fruits and vegetables cost a fraction of what processed foods do. If you do not believe that, then your mind is not focused on being healthy. Being positive about how important you are worth make many foods taste better. Assume that foods taste awful and you know what, they usually do.

I often had to fight with Pierrette about buying certain fruits and vegetables. Bananas at 69 cents a pound seemed incredible. How much are you paying for a pound of steak? All the health questions are in your mind. What price is “health” at today? Any idea what your health is worth?

Desire is the #2 ingredient

  • How badly do you want this?
  • How many times have you tried to gain control and failed?
  • What are the benefits of being in Perfect health, just for you, not your family and friends?

Taking action is the #3 ingredient

  1. How often have you visited this blog and not taken action?
  2. How often have you pulled out the juicer, and just put it back in the box or hidden it in the cupboard?
  3. How often have you told yourself you are “sick and tired” and just melted back to your old ways?

Eating For Energy is just a beginning. Try, try again is the key that opens your mind to new heights.Give it a try for real. Leave nothing on the table. Play this health game till you feel the best you ever have.

Become Passionate about “You”. I did and I am so Passionate about sharing it with you all.

Why You Must Be Selective When Seeking Help To Improve Your Health.

October 16th, 2010

unwellNow this might sound like a funny question, but would you take financial advice from somebody who is broke?

I’m thinking your answer is “no”, but so often we take health advice from people who aren’t really qualified to do so.

What do I mean by this? Well if your doctor doesn’t look healthy – then run the opposite direction!

Because unfortunately there are many medical practitioners out there that aren’t healthy themselves and a lot of it has to do with the fact that they haven’t really studied nutrition.

Unlike Yuri Elkaim – author of ‘Eating for Energy’, not only does Yuri know his stuff when it comes to health and nutrition, but he RADIATES good health. He quite simply ‘walks the talk’.

Now I don’t know about you but I would much rather take health advice from Yuri than a tired, overweight doctor. ‘Success leaves clues’ – and this is definitely a big one.

Of course you should also become an avid reader of health and nutrition yourself. Keep up-to-date with the latest information and educate yourself.

But for many people, health advice is often sought from the wrong people.

And here’s another important point. Where else do you seek information on health? From the TV, magazines, from companies selling you a product?

Because if a company is going to tell you that their product is good for you, then you have to ask yourself – is this a public service announcement or is this company just trying to sell me their product?

Any time a company is selling you a product, and telling you how great it is – you really should be putting those critical thinking glasses on.

So when it comes to finding ways to improve your health, don’t take advice from people who aren’t healthy. And certainly don’t take advice from anybody who is trying to sell you a product without asking them a lot of questions first!

Look for people like Yuri. If they look and feel healthy, then I think we can all learn a thing or two from them.

Eating For Energy-Defining My Passion

October 13th, 2010

When I was just a boy I loved to play Hockey. You all know that Canadians are all about Hockey?

pgps05dmalm_the_passion_for_hockey

I suffered from asthma and my abilities to play the game were never diminished because of my asthma but the pain I had, was always there. If you suffer from asthma, you know what I am talking about.

From the age of 6 or 7 my Passion for hockey followed me everywhere. I would get up at 2 am to get ready, would put on my uniform  and  skate the one mile to get to the arena. I would leave before the sun came up just to go and play my favorite game. Some mornings the wind would howl and the snow would fall but my Passion never  wavered. I remember those days like they were yesterday.

All through high school I played my favorite game and only gave up on my dream to play any longer because of  the poor condition of my lungs. Little did my family or I know that eating was so important for my health.

Yesterday, I spent 1.5 hours on the ice playing hockey with 20 year olds and never got off the ice once. I had tremendous energy. The feelings of exhilaration rushed through my veins.I wish you could of all been there. For me, it was like being in the Olympics. I had never dreamed of ever being able to relive the childhood passion I always had in my heart. Have you ever had that feeling? The Passion I am talking about?

Perfect Health-Passion For Life vs Passion For Food

October 11th, 2010

There comes a point in your life when you will have to choose. Yes, their is this tremendous temptation to hook on to foods that we love and reach for the stars that make you feel good inside. We all have had those moments, the ones when you eat that great tasting hamburger or those incredible nachos with cheese or that home made spaghetti your grandmother bakes…You all know what I mean?

Without knowing it you were hooked. Yes, you keep on looking and searching for that great taste and especially the feelings in your mouth of succulence and the temptation to want more becomes overwhelming.

That is when the Passion in your mind takes over and you know what? Your in the zone, that feel good zone, the one you are carrying in your head maybe right now. Yes, the one you just don’t want to give up.

passion for life

When my best friend introduced me to a fast food chain in 1969 and I ate my very first hamburger  it was a moment I will never forget. I even stated to him that one day I would work for them. You know what I did work for them, many years ago. My point is that I was hooked on the taste, that sensation many of you share  with food. The Passion that goes through your body is and can be incredibly great.

How do you compare eating all those great tasting foods with eating green juices?

How can having raw foods like corn, instead of corn on the cob cooked and served with butter and salt be compared you may ask? This is where it becomes tricky.

I know what you are thinking, because I was right where you are maybe right now.

I also had to make incredibly hard decisions. What was my life worth? How could I survive without all that great tasting food?

How important was my Passion For Life vs my Passion For Food?

PassionLoveLife

That is when Pierrette & I began our search. We needed to try and find that balance. We asked ourselves if we could have both? We where willing to try and find both even if it meant having to make a choice between the two. Life had become a real question mark for us at that point.

If you are caught up in your feelings and desire to finding the solutions that are right for you start by reading Yuri’s book called Eating For Energy. Their are many more great teachers out their but Yuri takes it one bite size piece at a time. He combines instruction and knowledge. He shows us the way and gives us the tools to help us make the right choices.

Pierrette & I found that we could have both, a great Passion For Food + a fantastic Passion For Life. Do you want both also? It can be so.

Let Eating for Energy be a new beginning. The one choice you need to make might be much easier than you think.

Take our word for it. You will be amazed. Just give yourself a chance.
