Eating for Energy is All about Direction

human energyOnce a week Pierrette & I have our “Junk Food Day”. After two and one half years we have maintained that day just as a compass to keep us in the right direction.

Yuri Elkaim did not and does not dictate to us and his guidance has given us the strength to reach Perfect Health because we want to,not because “”He” wants us to.

We now understand the obligation we have to ourselves to learn all we can about our bodies, our food and how all of it works together. In all our research, we could not find any one person that could make us all understand all of it, by ourselves, for ourselves and at the rythm we were ready to go at.

The 12 week plan is a plan not an absolute. We tried many recipes and added this or that to our taste. Nowhere is it written that Yuri would chastise us if we did not follow his every word.

Understanding why we ate the way we do was a real learning experience. I have become a resource person for people at work because they see a miracle unfolding in front of their very eyes. I am so proud of Pierrette & I for following such a great human being. Being part of your life journey is one of the greatest experiences of our lives.

Back to Junk Food Day for a moment. When we tell people they need to learn how to change their way of eating, we are always meet with incredible resistance. There fear of losing, some of the foods they dearly love, makes them defensive immediately. Have you encountered this?

Pierrette & I made an oath to ourselves when we started our journey, “Never to let anyone take the decisions in our place”. Yuri understands this and Junk Food Day has become our way of never forgetting how we use to eat. Often we could just forget about it but we want to always have it fresh in our minds.

Eating for Energy has helped me to get  to a very healthy, unmedicated 165 lbs from an unhealthy over medicated 242 lbs. Pierrette has gone from an unhealthy 195 (5′4″) down to a healthy 128 lbs. You do remember we are 58 years young?

Back to Junk Food Day for another moment. We eat chocolate, french fries and fried chicken. Potato chips, and candy are always part of a Junk Food Day and we now realize that we are in control of our bodies, not the other way around.

Follow Yuri yet use your own judgement. Read the book as a guide and keep it close. Discuss it with friends and family and join the Eating For Energy bandwagon, as we have.

Benefits of Green Tea

For many people, a coffee break is not something they want to be a part of. The bitter bite of a cup of coffee is not something they enjoy; others react poorly to the effects that coffee can wreck on your digestive system. But when given a chance to sip something hot, many people who spurn coffee will reach for a cup of green tea. Some people may be reaching simply for an alternative to java; others who routinely eat for energy know exactly how wonderful green tea can be for you.

Now, the words “tea” and “high energy diet” may not be the first association that you would choose, but there are all sorts of high energy benefits to green tea: it could lower your risk of developing certain types of cancers; it can help to reduce levels of bad cholesterol in the body; it can help ease the pain of some types of arthritis; it can aide in weight loss; it can provide an alternative source of caffeine; it can help to prevent food poisoning and tooth decay; it can help to soothe stress and anxiety levels; and many more ways, including wonderful rejuvenating effects when used topically on the skin.

The catechin polyphenol in green tea is what does the good work in cancer research, and offers similar but stronger protections to the body as the polyphenol called resveratrol does in red wine.

But perhaps one of the greatest aspects of green tea is that all of these wonderful benefits are held within a delicious hot beverage. My vision of weight loss has been dramatically changed with Eating for Energy. I have stopped looking for a magic bullet and decided to put my faith in me. What I mean is that learning about me has to be “my” concern. I really needed to have a plan and stop relying on others to decide for me.

In order to complete this mission I needed to make some very important decisions:

  1. How important was my health to me?
  2. What do I need to learn to come to grips with my health, body image and my vision for the future of my overall Body, Mind and Spirit?
  3. How do I stop relying on others to solve my problems?

Finding Eating for Energy was a Godsend because it gave me the information I needed to know without going back to school and starting all over again. My Health is so important that I needed to find a Guide to guide me with the “learning about me process”. The #1 benefit of buying Eating for Energy is that you have a guide, a constant companion on your journey to your ideal vision of you.

Every word written in this book was written just for me and my positive attitude about myself really inspired me to believe in me again. This was the beginning of realizing how important my health was to me.

The next step was all about what I needed to learn. This second step was the most difficult because of all the preconceived ideas I already had.

Trying Something New-Your Body Will Love You

corn on the cobTrying new dishes is something Pierrette & I agree is the most fun in Eating For Energy. We eat old food types in new and incredible ways. We are so a-typical as a society that eating junk is more of a habit than we know.

Last night I had corn on the cob, in a salad, uncooked and it was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had. Who would think of eating corn, right of the cob, uncooked, raw? I never would of thought of that. We all are use to eating it well cooked until it smells(mother and grandmother told us that),using as much butter and salt as possible, and eating until our gut hurts,right?

Yuri and Amy have taught me that eating food raw means to eat it the way it is intended. That only means to eat it without cooking it. Just eat it like eating an apple off the tree. Eat it like having carrots just pulled out of the ground or fresh pineapple from Hawaii, great.

My mouth waters just thinking of the great tastes Pierrette & I have discovered. Yes, I mean discovered, because we never ate any or most of our foods in their natural state. This is an incredible discovery for us. We are 58 and having great tasting foods everyday and enjoying it like children at Disneyland!

I could talk forever about how we feel, but taste it instead and tell us what you think. Here is the recipe:

Mexican Salad

Serves 2

2 corn on the cob

1 tomato,cubed

1 avocado,cubed

1 red pepper,cubed(not too big)

1/2 cucumber,cubed

1. De-cob corn using a knife, chop up additional ingredients bite size and add to a medium bowl.

2.Top with dressing of choice(I like the Simple Vinaigrette).

Simple Vinaigrette

Makes 1/4 cup

2-3 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar(the real stuff)

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Pinch of ground black pepper

Pinch of sea salt

1. Using a fork, whisk all ingredients in a cup and pour over salad.

Eating great tasting foods as this should be done in as much secrecy as possible. If you tell too many people it will spread so quickly and we will all be eating this way.
